Quick Facts
- Only the calculators listed on this page are acceptable to be used for the Math Test, Calculator portion of the test.
- You may not use calculators or calculator when you are working on tests like the Reading, Writing and Language or Math Test--No Calculator portions. You will need to take away the calculator out of use during these parts in the tests.
- You'll be dismissed and your scores will be canceled when you use your calculator to provide information during the test, or to remove questions or answer sheets from the test room.
Calculator Smarts
- Bring your own calculator. You shouldn't share one.
- Don't bring a brand new calculator. Bring one you're comfortable with. Practice for the test using the same calculator you'll be using on the day of your test.
- This Math Test includes some questions in which it's best not to make use of calculators. calculator, even though you are allowed to.
- It is helpful to perform some scratch work in the exam book. Write down your thoughts before applying your calculator.
- Be sure that your calculator is in good working order and that batteries are new. The test center will not provide extra calculators or batteries. If your calculator malfunctions during the test and you don't have a backup it will be necessary to pass the test without it.

Acceptable Calculators
If you have any calculator with characters that are 1 inch or more or if the calculator features a display that is raised that is visible to other test-takers. You will be assigned a seat at the discretion of the test coordinator.
Only battery-operated, handheld equipment is allowed for testing. There are no power cords allowed.
Calculators that are permitted for testing include:
- The majority of Graphing Calculators (see chart)
- All Scientific Calculators
- Every four-function device (not recommended)

Unacceptable Calculators
You are not permitted to make use of any of these items as a calculator:
- Laptops, other computers mobile phones, tablets, smartwatches or wearable technology
- Models that have access to the Internet can be wirelessly connected, Bluetooth and cellular connectivity, recording and playing of audio/video, camera, or other features similar to smartphones.
- Models with a computer-style (QWERTY) keypad pen input, pen input or stylus
- Models that have electrical outlets, emit sound or have a tape
- In addition, the usage of hardware peripherals such styluss with an approved calculator is not allowed. Certain models that have touchscreen capabilities are not permitted (e.g., Casio ClassPad).
